Holiday Party Ready: A 6-Week Glow Protocol from Portland’s Top Medspa
The holiday season in Portland is beautiful — and busy. Work parties, family gatherings, end-of-year events, and more photos than you’ll take the rest of the year combined. If you want to walk into those moments looking genuinely refreshed and confident, the time to start is now. Here’s the 6-week protocol we use at Maine Aesthetic Medicine to get Portland patients ready for the season.
Why 6 Weeks?
Some treatments work immediately. Others require time to settle, heal, and show their best results. A 6-week lead time lets us layer treatments strategically — so that every appointment compounds on the last, and you arrive at your events looking your absolute best, not still-healing.
With the holiday season starting in earnest around Thanksgiving, that puts your start date right around now.
The 6-Week Holiday Glow Protocol
Start with Daxxify to relax lines between brows, forehead, and around eyes. Full onset takes 5–7 days; you’ll be perfectly settled by week 2. Add lip filler now if desired — any swelling resolves within a week, giving you a natural result well before the season peaks.
Now that neurotoxin has settled, we layer in a collagen-stimulating treatment. GeniusRF or SkinPen microneedling kickstarts skin remodeling — redness resolves in 24–48 hours, and you’ll see improvement in texture, pore size, and overall radiance over the following weeks.
A mid-series peel or laser treatment resurfaces the outer skin layers — fading pigmentation, smoothing texture, and dramatically improving tone. Allow 5–7 days for the peel to complete; by week 4 your skin will be visibly clearer and more even.
No major treatments this week. We use this window to review and optimize your at-home routine — making sure your SPF, retinol, and barrier products are supporting your results and not undoing them.
Two weeks out from your peak events, DiamondGlow exfoliates, extracts, and infuses skin with prescription-grade serums. The result is immediate radiance — the final polish on all the work done in weeks 1–3.
Your Daxxify is fully settled and perfectly natural. Your skin is even, bright, and smooth. Any filler has softened to its most beautiful result. You’re ready — and you’ll stay this way for months.
Optional Add-Ons to Customize Your Protocol
Sculptra
For patients noticing facial volume loss, Sculptra can be added in week 1 or 2. Results build over months — a holiday start means your best results arrive by spring.

What If I’m Starting Later Than 6 Weeks Out?
Don’t panic — there’s still time to look great. Here’s how we adjust based on your timeline:
- 4 weeks out: Daxxify + DiamondGlow + consider a lighter peel (not a full VI Peel). Still very effective.
- 2 weeks out: Daxxify (if you’ve had it before and know your response time) + DiamondGlow. Filler with careful timing — discuss with your provider.
- 1 week out: DiamondGlow or a B12/NAD+ injection only. No injectables or resurfacing this close to events.
Wherever you’re starting from, a brief consultation helps us build the right plan for your actual timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book all 6 weeks at once?
Yes — and we recommend it. Holiday season books out quickly at Maine Aesthetic Medicine. You can schedule your entire protocol in advance and we’ll space everything appropriately.
What if I react to a treatment and have an event coming up?
This is exactly why we plan 6 weeks ahead. Buffer time exists for a reason — most temporary reactions resolve well within a week, and we have 6 weeks of runway. Waiting until two weeks before your holiday party leaves no room for adjustment.
Is there a single “best” holiday treatment if I can only do one?
For skin: DiamondGlow 1–2 weeks before your event. For overall refresh: Daxxify, 4–6 weeks before (not closer, to give it time to settle naturally). For radiance with a little more depth: a VI Chemical Peel, with 6 weeks lead time.
